Uganda seeks to expand rural electrification projects

                                   

               

The government of Uganda has received a loan from the African Development Bank (ADB) and grants from the European Union – Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-AITF) towards the cost of the Uganda Rural Electricity Access Project.

A portion of the funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the procurement of electricity connection material and connection accessories.

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the above mentioned.

International bidding will be conducted in accordance with the bank’s rules and procedures for procurement of goods and works, and specifically, through bidding procedures.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of Rural Electrification Agency, Procurement & Disposal Unit, P.O.Box 7317, Tel: +256 414 346013, Email: procurement@rea.or.ug, from 08:00 to 17:00 hours local time.

Submissions

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the said executing agency and upon payment of UGX 300,000 ($80).

Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 am on 28 September 2018 and must be accompanied by a bid security fee.
